This kitchen required a modern update without a complete renovation. I preserved the custom cabinetry and Carrara countertops. A redesign of the hood and other mill work transformed the space from country to transitional. I added a wine fridge, replaced all appliances, added charcoal marble slab backsplash, and vinyl linen wallpaper for durability and texture. Updated pendant lighting and stainless steel counter stools completed the modern look without a hefty price tag.

The powder room should be the jewel of your home and something special for your guests. Unfortunately, this powder room did not have a window or natural lighting. That being said, I doubled-down with black wallpaper adorned with gold reflecting pine leaves to create a moody, sexy, intimate space. Small spaces are perfect for adding dramatic wall coverings and it paid off here. A polished gold marble countertop was replaced with a honed waterfall marble, square sink, updated hardware and Kelly Wearstler sconces. The room was finished off with a custom mirror, acrylic accessories and of course... black toilet paper.

Living Room

Gucci Heron wallpaper creates the dramatic focal point in this green, black and blue living room. The two custom fabricated white sofas create a neutral foundation for the patterns and colors tying this room together. A vintage brass Greek key chair, andirons and table lamps give this space a rich, layered look.

Kitchen

This kitchen was dated, small and non-functional. I changed the floor plan by removing unneeded cabinet cut-ins and opened the kitchen to a galley shape. The refrigerator was moved to a central location and the sink was moved in front of the window to create balance. The laundry room situated in the back was relocated to the second floor, allowing space for a bar and beverage center. The large format porcelain floor tile limited grout line, while the porcelain countertops created a life like Calacatta veining and durability the client was looking for.

"Had a wonderful experience with Stacy Dackson, owner of Price Designs. Attention to detail, indefatigable in quest to find the right textiles and furniture. We were able to build a progressive plan based on budget. It’s been two years in the making and my house now looks like it’s out of a magazine." - Stacey Weir

I redesigned this traditional dining room into a vintage modern environment. A custom table and chairs are complemented by an oversized light fixture that takes center stage. Vintage items such as the bar cart, buffet lamps and sideboard contribute to the eclectic vibe seen throughout the home. Holly Hunt custom fabricated ripple fold sheers provide soft, diffused light. A hand-knotted over dyed rug adds warmth with its durable low pile, perfect for dining spaces. I also used a deep moody paint in the dining room to visually distinguish it from the adjacent wallpapered breakfast nook and foyer.
